Website Launch Checklist

Before you go live with your new or redesigned website, make sure these essentials are covered. This guide is also perfect for DIY site builders.

1. Cohesive Branding

Your website should reflect your business identity consistently across every page—and match your social media and marketing materials. Gather or create:

  • High-resolution logo (transparent background recommended)
  • Brand colors (hex codes preferred)
  • Font choices for headings and body text

2. Secure and Connect Your Domain

Every website needs a domain name. Whether you’re using one you already own or buying a new one, check these items:

  • Domain purchased and registered
  • Access to domain registrar account (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
  • DNS connected to your CMS or website builder

Most domains cost about $20/year. We recommend you maintain full ownership of your domain credentials.

3. Accurate Contact Information

Make it easy for customers to reach you. Double-check that the following are correct and visible on your site:

  • Phone number(s)
  • Email address(es)
  • Physical address (or hide it if not applicable)
  • Hours of operation
  • Links to social media accounts
  • Working contact forms and maps

Also update your Google Business Profile to match your new website info.

4. Website Content & SEO Basics

Your content should tell your story and help people find you through search engines. Review your site for:

  • Clear descriptions of your services or products
  • Keywords related to your industry and location
  • Optimized titles, descriptions, and header tags
  • Images with alt text for accessibility and SEO
  • No typos or broken links

5. Launch and Test

You're almost there! Before publishing, take care of the final details:

  • Preview and test your site on desktop and mobile

  • Set up business reviews or reputation tools (optional add-on)
